Jeanne Davis McLeland – April 9, 2015

Jeanne Davis McLeland, 68, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 9, 2015.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Wayne Nance officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Jeanne was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Tulia, to Leon and Wilma Davis.  She graduated from Silverton High School in 1965.  Jeanne worked at Coulter Gardens Nursery for 20 years.  After retirement, she installed and serviced koi ponds.  Jeanne loved animals and would help care for her friend’s pets.  She was very artistic.  Jeanne was a member of Church of Christ.  At her request, she donated her body to Texas Tech School of Medicine for medical research.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dusty McLeland.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin McLeland and wife Tracy and Russell McLeland, all of Amarillo; a brother, Dwin Davis of Springfield, Missouri; three sisters, Peggy Fleming of Silverton, Martha Greeson of Amarillo and Lanis McWilliams of Houston; and three grandchildren, Elliot, Easton and Evin.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Russell McLeland Special Needs Account in care of Happy State Bank, 2614 Georgia St., Amarillo, TX 79109.

Your first Christmas and New Year's in Heaven............how glorius that must be! We miss you here, Jeanne, but know we will be together again as God's plans come to fruition. Say hello to our classmates who are there with you, and give special hugs to our parents, siblings, and children who also left us before we were ready for them to go. And Jeanne, don't keep telling God how to run things.....He's had more practice than you, and will do just fine.  :)
