the long, strange trip continues... after HS, I attended Brown Univ., in Providence, R.I., where I double-majored in American Civilization & Anthropology. after Brown, I went to law school @ USD; in Vermillion I realized I missed performing, so ended up getting both my J.D. & my master's degree (theatre). I passed the Iowa & SoDak bar exams, & briefly practiced law in Sioux City, but moved to the Twin Cities in the Fall of '89, & stayed there 12 yrs, before moving to LA in '01. After 14 yrs in the land of LAaaahhz, I moved back to the ol' hometown in Jan., '15, having been recruited to become a financial advisor with a big regional wirehouse. After two years with that firm, I went the independent route, & am now VP at Legacy Financial, LLC, a boutique brokerage in the Frances Bldg.
can't really think of anything, off the top of my head. I missed out on our last yr @ NHS, since i was in D.C., being a USSenate Page for Dick Clark (the one-term Iowa Senator).
what little I do remember from HS was largely of the nerdy variety: I was on the school news periodical ("The Paper"), & acted in a couple of plays ("Spoon River Anthology" & "Hello, Dolly!").
I guess I have one ~slightly~ amusing school anecdote: one morning, cruising into the NHS parking lot in my '74 lavender AMC Gremlin, w/ my 8-track tape player cranking out Cream, blasting "Badge," I was approached by Josh West & Charlie Hoberg, w/ the following chiding comment: "umm... so... you like to listen to the really OLD stuff, huh?" My snarky rejoinder: "umm... yeah... 'cause CLAPTON IS GOD!" Ahh, good times!
