Beth Berger Stava

I went to University of Nebraska (with Jeanne Smith and Todd Sapp) and met my husband Mike who was in Sapp's fraternity. Taught 7th and 8th language arts in Eau Claire, WI for one year then married Mike that summer. We lived in Cedar Rapids, IA for 5 years, and I taught in the tiny town of Solon, IA. I taught 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grade English all at once (it was that small). I also coached the pom squad and was the head gymnastics coach at Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids.
We moved to St. Louis in Jan. 1990 and have been here ever since. I have continued to teach 7th gr. language arts since coming here. I was the drama coach for many years at one middle school then changed schools. Now, along with teaching, I have the position of LA Curriculum Coordinator for my school. Sounds much more prestigious than it is. I am proud to brag that my 7th grade team of LA teachers and myself have been in the Top Ten Schools in Missouri for test scores for the last 8 years! (Even though I despise test scores.)
We love St. Louis and all of our sons were born here. We're huge sports fans and spend much of our time attending any kind of sporting event. I can't believe my oldest is graduating high school the same year I'm attending a 30 year reunion!!!

Great memories-
cheerleading, basketball games, the gymnastic team and our trips (Magid in juice can curlers), the boys' swim team friends, Gary's house before games or dances, 55 Watch the Lips, Mrs. Hegg's class, Senior Pappas, golf team where I laughed more than hit the ball, "The Place" and the Toga Party, Jeanne in the bathtub on Homecoming, proms, mums for homecoming, oohh - so many fun times!
