In Memory

Johnny Goff

Johnny C. Goff, born October 26, 1953 to Lena L. Goff and Monroe Goff of Snowhill, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2013.

Johnny proudly served our country for 14 years in the U.S. Army, where he met and later married Annette (Madruga) Goff. He then went on to work at the United State Penitentiary, where he was known for his love of music, fishing, shooting and his wild, crazy stories. After 23 years of dedicated service, the "Legendary Johnny Goff" as his BOP family respectfully titled him, traded in his cuffs for a fishing pole.

He cherished going on various cruises and road trips with his beloved wife during his retirement.

Always full of love, laughter and jokes, the family of Lompoc Valley Baptist Church could always count on Brother Goff for a hearty laugh. Being a member for 23 years, he enjoyed barbecuing and helping with teen sterilized afterglows and campouts, leaving smiles on the faces of those he touched was a given.

He is survived by his wife, Annette Goff, of 31 years, children Renee (Goff) Doster, Kevin Goff, grandchildren Dakota Doster and Seth Doster, sister Francis Chase of Snowhill, North Carolina, brother Mitchell Goff of Snowhill, North Carolina and brother Joe Goff of San Diego and his entire BOP and church family.

The funeral service will be Friday, April 19, 2013 at 2 pm at Lompoc Valley Baptist Church, 700 East College Avenue in Lompoc followed by interment in the Lompoc Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Johnny requested donations be made to either the Richard G. Payne scholarship for the Lompoc Valley Baptist Church school or the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation Inc.
