In Memory

Becky Kosie (Crosier)

Rebecca "Becky" Koesy Crosier
Born on April 12, 1955, Rebecca “Becky” Koesy Crosier, 68, went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2024. She was the oldest daughter of Dr. Sheldon Fred and Dora Etta Luck Koesy.
Since Becky was a little girl, she wanted to be a teacher. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in education from East Carolina University, receiving the Outstanding Senior Award from that department, then earned a master’s degree – all while working full-time and raising a family.
Becky earned clinical teacher and national board certifications as a middle school teacher of English. A teacher at Farmville Middle School (FMS) for her entire career, she was honored two times as the school’s Teacher of the Year. Among her many leadership roles as an educator, she was a respected mentor of young teachers. Her students will always remember her passion for learning and for them.
After retiring from teaching, Becky received a master's degree in clinical social work, also from ECU. She worked in that field serving families of Pitt and Greene counties until health problems forced her to retire.
Becky was a long-time and active member of Farmville Presbyterian Church. She loved books, good discussions, teaching, family get-togethers, her church, her friends and fellow educators, and most of all, her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, in-law and friend; a faithful public servant touching many lives along the way.
She is survived by daughter Dawn Jones (Chris), son Brian Crosier, and son Justin Crosier (Amanda); grandchildren Calvin “Cal” Crosier, Jackson Wainwright (fiancée Destiny Grizzard), Colton Crosier, Ava Crosier; sister Debby Alston (Allen), brother Mike Koesy (Kim), and sister Nancy Parker (Jeffrey); many nieces and nephews, cousins, three aunts, in-law family and her beloved FMS colleagues and Challenger Team. She is predeceased by her parents.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., at Farmville Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 26, 2:00 p.m., at Farmville Presbyterian Church.
