SNYDER HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1968 AND FRIENDS
On behalf of the planning committee, thank you for attending our 50th Class Reunion. I want all of you to know that your attendance and participation is thanks enough. Your participation is what made it a success and far exceeded expectations. I don’t think the anxiety level diminished until about twenty minutes into the Friday night event. As more and more of you entered and registered, I began to breathe easier. I realize that fifty years of living often clouds our priorities and fifty years of living sometimes generates commitments or circumstances that are beyond our control. I am sure all of us had some disappointments that some expected couldn’t make it and pleasant surprises from those that did attend that were not expected. I did notice at every gathering, there was the constant buzz of conversation, I concluded everyone was having a good time. I did not notice anyone engaged with their I-Phone as is common with today’s society. I have been told by several of the spouses of classmates including my own spouse, that they envy the unique bond that we all have. It is a sense of “family” bonded not by blood but by the many shared experiences growing up in a small West Texas town a hundred miles from “civilization”. I have enjoyed sharing those memories and I hope that it sparked some of your own experiences. Until next time, keep in touch and “Happy Trails to you, until we meet again” “Con amore” Vick

Betse, Where were you on the evening of November 18, 1949? If it was the Battenfield-Jones Hospital, 2607 Avenue G, Snyder, we were at the same location.
