STANLEY POTONSKI, 75, NORTH BRUNSWICK Home News Tribune Online 08/6/07 There will be a memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at St. Peter the Apostle Church in New Brunswick in honor of Stanley P. Potonski. The memorial Mass will not be held on Saturday (Aug. 11) as incorrectly indicated in Sunday's edition of the Home News Tribune. Mr. Potonski died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at his residence at the age of 75. He was born in New Brunswick, and resided in North Brunswick since 1973. He graduated from St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick and later earned degrees at Rutgers University in New Brunswick and at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt. He was employed by Franklin Public Schools as a teacher and administrator, retiring in 1991. Mr. Potonski was a Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a communicant at St. Peter the Apostle Church in New Brunswick. Mr. Potonski was predeceased by his parents, Pauline and Paul Potonski and by a sister, Sophie Reckage. He is survived by a sister, Helen Potonski of Somerset; two nephews, Edward Reckage Jr. and family of Manasquan, and Michael Reckage of Mercerville, and his friend and caregiver, Manuel Garcia. Cremation was private under the direction of Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset. Memorial contributions may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Melvin E. Hooper (1968)

Yes! I remember him well. Never had him for class, but he would always stop me in the hallways whenever we passed. He was impressed with my musical abilities. What a great inspiration he was.
