I first met Joe in July 1957 at the Middlesex County Freeholders Little League tornament in Roosevelt park in Edison. We were opposing pitchers in a semi final game. He was pitching for Spotswood and I was on the mound for So.Amboy. Joe pitched a great game allowing only 2 hits.Unfortunatly for Joe 1 of those hits was a home run by our own Frank Ruszala and I pitched a no hitter and we won 1-0. After that day I did not see Joe again until Sept. 1958 when we enrolled at SMH. I believe our first reaction upon seeing each other for the first time was what the hell are you doing here? Over the next 4 years we got to know each other pretty well. I was drawn to Joe because of his sense of humor, his out going personality and his wanting to have a good time. We also were team mates for 3 years on the varsity base ball team where Joe was a pitcher and I played right field for coach Bill " Smokey" Ryan.To say the least Joe was a character whose memory I still fondly recall all these many years later.                                                                   Fitz

Really nice fellow, who always wore a smile.  Does anyone know what happened to Joe?
