I just want to thank Kristi for what she is doing and think everyone that can't participate should send a check even 5 dollars would help..

Kudos to Kristi..Thank you for being the kind caring person you are :)

Ok everyone! The benefit is in 2 days and I haven't heard from anyone! I know it's like paying a gallon for gas but how about $5.93? The $.93 for our graduating year! I know we all have struggles and have our own lives to worry about but she is one of our classmates!

Can I put a little sappy sound to it and say "I'd do it for all of you!!!" ; )

Oh, I wish I could help you with some New Kids on the Block mementos. I have long since worn out my Hanging Tough t-shirt. Doesn't that feel like a life time ago?

For those of you that haven't noticed, there is a new feature available when you view your profile. You can now indicate whether or not you will be attending the reunion. If you say YES a small icon will appear next to your name on the 'Classmate Profile' page.

Also, we will soon be turning on the ability to register for the reunion via the website. We are just over three months away. I hope that you are all as excited as I am for a fun weekend.

More to come soon!

Any initial thoughts on the 'Mock Elections'?

Thanks Stan for changing so much and knocking me out of the running....but it's a honor to be nominated! LOL I voted for you too!

Best Hair 2008? I sure hate to disappoint, but my hair is wadded up or under a baseball cap 95% of the time. I promise that I will attempt to style it for the reunion....
Whoever nominated me for that, you made my day, but you are crazy : )

Nicole Mayernik (King)

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd like to see a mock election for "Most inspirational classmate", and see Kristina's name as a choice. Personally, I think that it would be nice to include her in this to let her know she's in our thoughts...

Anyone else agree?

And Stephanie, at least you're getting voted for BEST HAIR! I'm on there for being least like I was in High School! (Umm... One could interpret this multiple ways.) lol

Ya gotta love 'growing up'!

And to all of those who sent emails asking about the earthquake here today... YES!!! We were stuck right in the middle of it! You truly can't appreciate how long 20 seconds can be until you're stuck in an earthquake!

The good news is only a few pictures were effected. Everyone is fine, the walls are still in tact, and I haven't heard any local reports yet of major damage.

Thanks to those of you who felt the need to check-in though. It was nice to know we were in your thoughts!

Straighten your pictures and I'm glad that you are ok!

I agree about Kristina! She said she would get on the website soon. She's started using the computer again! Another progress!

You know how every now and then you do something...and then afterwards you realize just how old we are getting? Well, that happened to me last night.

My wife and I went to see Neil Diamond last night here in Indianapolis. Don't get me wrong, I love Neil Diamond. In fact, I don't hesitate busting out the lyrics to most of his songs. The problem is that most of the people around us were 55+ in age. Is that what it has come to? Do I now enjoy the same things that my people our parents age enjoy?

Yes...I felt way old last night.

Neil Diamond, huh, Streck? Were the AARP people there giving out free samples of Ensure? :) I know what you mean, though... I saw Paul McCartney a few years back and I went with my mom and my aunt and I felt old as shit at that concert.

And I've totally turned into my parents as far as music goes. There must be a hundred music stations on that damn Sirius I have in the car and all I listen to is the '90s alternative station. I don't get these kids and their crazy music.

Personally, I love Neil Diamond and grew up on him! Who DIDN'T know "Turn on Your Heart Light"? I mean, we ARE the ET era!

I had my nieces for the last 2 days because their mother is in the hospital. They are 2 girls - 12 and 13. They make me listen to 102.7, Ryan Seacrest's station. Last night they were singing along to some song about a girl kissing a girl and liking it because she tasted like cherry chapstick. I looked at Emily, (the 13 year old who thinks she's 25 and looks close to it) and said, "If she only liked kissing her because she tastes like cherry chapstick, then why doesn't she just go and buy some chapstick of her own"?

Apparently this was the most humerous comment she had ever heard, because she felt the need to teach me about "being gay" and that that's what the whole song was about.

Good thing I have my 13 year old niece around to teach me about sex ed and being gay!

I would love to see Neil Diamond or Paul Simon!!! I am going to be subjected to Avril Lavigne and the Jonas Brothers this evening, compliments of my nine-year-old daughter... I'm pretty excited though, her first concert : )

Nicole, nice save on the cherry chapstick subject!
