Anyone listen to 89x? Of coarse you do..in 2006 I won the trip to England to the V festival that 89x gave away!! Once in a lifetime gig for me..If I hadn't won it, I'm sure I'd never see that beautiful place!! needless to say....I never made it to the actual festival..there were WAY too many other places and history to see!! LOVED it!
Boy I missed this whole conversation about parents and music - I can lay claim to the fact that my dad owns Bahamian Music Distributors, distributing the finest soca, calypso, junkanoo & real reggae around. I'd be glad to share those CDs anytime! Don't ask me how a guy from England and Detroit ended up doing that...
Kevin, I'm in for the western road trip as long as we do North Dakota, one of two states left for me.
2 years ago I was feeling spontaneous and I bought a Mega Million ticket. I matched the gold ball and got almost $2 out of it (or a 20 minute phone call using 10-10-220).
Hi everyone, I finally had a chance to post some pictures, not the greatest, but at least it's something to look at! I look forward to seeing everyone soon and catching up. I am looking forward to a high school football game, I have not been in years!! Take Care
We are compiling some cds for the DJ to spin at the reunion dinner. What are the songs that bring you back to your glory days at SLHS? Post now or forever hold your peace....
I just found a website that lists the most popular "pop" songs of 1993. I am not sure that I agree with all of these, but it says:
* Proclaimers - I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) * 4 Non Blondes - What's Up? * Soul Asylum - Runaway Train * Dr. Dre - Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang * Blind Melon - No Rain * Stereo MC's - Connected * Us3 - Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia) * Tag Team - Whoomp! (There It Is) * R.E.M. - Man On the Moon * Billy Joel - The River Of Dreams
It is also worthwhile to take a look at 1992. Some top "pop" songs from that year are:
* Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit * Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You * U2 - Mysterious Ways * Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge * Wreckz - N - Effect - Rump Shaker * Michael Jackson - Black Or White * House Of Pain - Jump Around * Boyz II Men - End Of the Road * Arrested Development - Tennessee * Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven
I think that Porath might like to add some hits from Chaka-Khan to the mix.
Steve, I think at the reunion you Matt, Benji, Brian and Camis (did I get that right? I think I'm missing someond... Can't remember now) should reunite for a little Boyz II Men Talent Show Style! ;-)
Hahahaha.
Did you guys win that? Man, I can't remember anything. I just remember watching you guys practice and thinking I can't believe your really going to do it.
Sean Mills was the lead in that group, Mike! I think it was Sean, Steve, Benjie and Brian. I'm pretty sure I have a picture of them singing at the All Night Party - I'll try to find it.
I see Rump Shaker made the list...that makes me happy...
Matt, you have more CDs than our father who art in heaven, they are in pristine and alphabetized order, and you do not sing? "You're killin' me Smalls!" Now, where's your list of top hits for the Class of 1993???
Yeah, I've watched Phelps set records and records for the number of records set. The olympics sure isn't what it use to be. The last one I can remember watching constantly was probably '88 or '92. If it wasn't for Phelps (or my significant other), I probably wouldn't have watched any of it.
Thank God it's football season! We should have set up a class of '93 fantasy football league.
This is a friendly reminder that the discounted rate for Reunion Dinner tickets is only valid through the end of August. As of September 1st (Labor Day) the cost will increase to $60 per person.
