My mother passed away in the spring of 2020. My father passed away in April of 2008 at the age of 90. He lived in his home to the end. We sold the Big Green House but I still live next door.

After high school I danced for a long time. I lived in Europe 3 times, twice as a dancer and then as a grad student. I got a degree in botany and then a PhD in plant pathology. I was the camellia curator at the Huntington Botanical Gardens for 3 years and a Horticulturist at the LA County Arboretum for 2 years. Now I am a senior biologist for the LA County Dept of Agriculture. I just started a garden TV show, Gardens of California on DHTV, Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:30. It is actually a class that is broadcast from Cal State Dominguez Hills. It is live and I take phone call questions and e-mail questions. It is also broadcast on the internet at dhtv.csudh.edu. The show started in Feb and is over in May. It has been a lot of work but fun so far.

After dancing in Germany from 1983 to 86 I went back to school at Cal Poly Pomona. I finished a BS in Botany in 89 and a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology at UC Riverside in 94.

I remember Mark Romay being elected class president at Oneonta, his poster said 'A dog will bark and throw a pie if you don't vote for Mark Romay'.

I live here, hard to avoid.

I retired at the end of January 2020 from the Los Angeles Co Dept. of Agricultural Commissioner. I spend my time tending my vegetable garden and fruit trees in my back yard and playing golf in the Arroyo with John Eccleston. I have an extensive collection of succulents, orchids and ferns. Now that pandemic is ending I can start attending some the plant society meetings at the Arboretum.
