What about "The Dome" @ South Ridge Golf Course? Fatty's?

Michelle Broyhill (Richart)

Christy, What's Fatty's? I'm so out of the SSC loop and what's even there anymore. We could always hit up Harmony Lanes and relive our post-prom party=). Nothing like beer and squeeze cheese!

I think we should have a couple of events over the weekend. Maybe one "bar night" and the other one more family orientated event for those who have kids. What do you guys think of that?

I personally would prefer to do it over a 3-day weekend to make it easier for people living out of town. However, holidays can be tricky. I'd vote for Labor Day or the Fourth of July. I think Memorial Day is usually bad overall. Although, if we do it over the Fourth, I feel we'd have to incorporate watching fireworks somehow.

Either way, I may need to rent a date since I think my hubby will be back in the "Sandbox" during that time (aka Iraq/Afghanistan). Any takers?=)

Michelle

Fatty's is a bar in SSC where the old Pizza Ranch used to be. All of your suggestions sound great to me! The only thing we have to keep in mind is that we have no budget. Each class member will pay for each event they attend. Also, I would hate for some to go to one event and not the other. People might miss eachother. Just a thought. On the other hand, we are working with a completely inflexible firefighter schedule working 24 hours shifts so several options may be nice.

I'll be your date, Michelle!!! j/k, weekend of fun sounds great! Even if it is a barbeque at the park with the fam and drinks in the evening.-Danielle

Hey ladies....thanks for planning the reunion!
I think that Fatty's would be a good idea. It has everything all in one building--lots of room, pizza, a bar, music, and a dance floor. I think keeping it in South Sioux seems like a good idea (if possible).
Whatever weekend works for me......although, most families have traditional get togethers on the 4th of July weekend, so that might not be good.
Maybe we could have a dance at the First Lutheran Church like the good old days!!! Just kidding. :)

Of course!!! Why didn't I think of the First Lutheran Church!! That was hilarious Julie! A BBQ @ a park is another great idea. Maybe a pot luck during the day, bar later that night . . . or separate days.

Thanks Danielle, you can be the Romy to my Michelle.=) I really think 2 events would be great! I like the picnic and bar idea.

Hello Ladies,
I think a BBQ/Potluck at the park (Scenic Park shelter?) in the late afternoon (3:00/4:00-6:00/7:00) and then a bar (Fatty's) in the evening (9:00?) would be a good plan. That would give people the opportunity to bring their kids and visit with one another as well as, time for parents to get their kids settled and head back for fun! The only variable would be weather! So, would probably need a back-up plan.

Regarding dates, I personally would prefer a non-holiday weekend because I have a few weddings already scheduled for those weekends, but I also live closer than some :)

Anyway, those are my thoughts. Hope that was helpful! Let me know if I can do anything!
Thanks! Lindsay

Hey girls....thanks for planning this it sounds like fun. I like the idea of bbq at the park and drinks at fatty's (everytime i go there is like a highschool reunion anyway lol). The only prob.is that i have 3 boys that will take up all of my attention and i may not be able to mingle :(. But i'm soo there for drinks!!! ... I wonder if you guys can pin-point a date soon lol.. i have another high school reunion to go to in California and would like to plan my weekends out (plain tickets, babysitter, ect.) I would hate to miss either one and so far neither has picked a date...lol

Just throwing in my two cents...

I also like the idea of keeping it in South Sioux and I like the idea of a BBQ (everybody loves a BBQ), and then afterward we can hit the pub. Just a couple of questions... are we planning on doing both on the same day for sure? I think it might be easier for some people who live out of town or work on weekends to make arrangements were it to all be on one day. Also, have we thought about a possible backup activity in the event that the weather doesn't cooperate? I'm not trying to be difficult, but it's always a possibility around here! :-) I'd love to help out if I'm needed, just let me know! Looking forward to seeing you all!

Hey there & Happy '09!!

Great planning ladies - way to get on this! I really like the idea of a picnic during the day in SSC....it'll be so nice meeting the kiddos, instead of just seeing the pics. Plus, you proud parents will get the joy of 'showing off' your cute little ones! :) I, also, really like the idea of heading to Fatty's later on that same day. You are right, Norma, Fatty's always attracts the SSC grads!:)

Many of us will be traveling, so I personally think that it would be nice if we could plan the whole picnic/Fatty's on the same day. My vote is that we try to get this on a 3-day weekend.....for those who have to travel.

I know the owner of Fatty's....and I could talk with him about possibly allowing us to have our picnic there (only if weather doesn't cooperate!). He is a really nice guy....perhaps this could be our bad-weather-back-up-plan? This would mean that we hang at Fatty's for our picnic and after hours, though. We'll keep our fingers crossed for good weather! Let me know if you want this as our 'back-up' and I will talk to the owner.

Great planning so far ladies - let us know what we can all bring to the picnic, if that's what you choose!

Hey everyone, This all sounds like fun to me :) Do we know a date yet - July for sure right? We will be road-tripping it back to SSC for the month of July so that should be interesting driving 22 hours with 3 kids in the van by myself. It will definately be an experience! I will be around so if there is anything I can do to help out, just let me know.

Hey Everyone! Please be sure to check the "Missing Classmates" button and if you see anyone on there that you are in contact with, please pass along the reunion information. We are going to try to set up an evite/invitation shortly. But, it's tough when we have very limited information from everyone as far as contact info. I'm sure most of you don't live at the same place you did when you graduated 10 years ago and that's mostly what the school has for us.

Can't wait to see everyone!

Not so sure we will get to make it. I think Brad has a Frisbee Golf Tournament that day. So we shall see. Anything you need to mail we have the same addie and Good Luck getting him to update anything.

Thanks Norma--be sure that they email me at MBroyhill@aol.com so that I can send them the Evite. They will NOT be counted unless they respond on the actual Evite website. Otherwise, there's just no way to keep track of who has been invited, who hasn't been contacted, food we need to order, etc.

Thanks!
