I moved to Memphis in 1988 for college, and quickly met the man I would marry. We both graduated, got jobs, and got married. He and I went to graduate school, but we had our first kid halfway through. (He finished anyway. I didn't.) Had another kid. Kept on working. Got the best job in the world in 2008 - managing the Starbucks store at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, then got promoted in less than a year to be Retail Manager over the entire Food Service Department. I live two blocks from work and help make life a little easier for the families whose kids are in treatment here, and for the fantastic people who are working to cure those children.
So I have a cute house, two amazing kids, two dogs, two cats, a minivan, and I'm vice president of my church. Life is good.
