Many of you remember when I left I was running around in combat boots and talking of going to the AF Academy. Well, I did it. I am also still doing it. I am currently a Major in the AF and I am working as an instructor/professor/teacher/mentor or whatever you want to call it at Air University. Now that may sound like a made up name, but it is the education center for Air Force professional military education. There are a couple of Masters level schools (mine is one) and then one for the old guys (I still don't consider myself old) to get a doctorate. I primarily teach leadership and teamwork concepts to the captains. I am also the liaison officer for the International Officer School which means I get to deal with military officers from countries all over the world. Some of the countries are Morocco, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Chile, Argentina, Botswana, Uganda, Nigeria, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Philippines, and many more. I was even fortunate enough to take a trip to Washington DC where I met up with Kevin Kennedy and his family.
Even though I wrote a book on what I do, the most important thing in my life is my family. I met my wife, Angela, almost 11 years ago and somehow we managed to have a boy and a girl Will (6), Lizzie (4). There is so much we do and have done over the last few years, it would take a day to write it all down. Needless to say, we are a happy military family.
