BURSCH, Ed Friday, October 29, 2010, Ed Bursch passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife, son and daughter as his body succumbed to his three-year battle with colon and liver cancer. He was so proud of his family and appreciated the love and care they gave him every day. Ed was born in Red Wing, Minnesota, to LaVera and Edward Weiland on March 21, 1951. He spent most of his years growing up in Moscow, ID and on the South Hill in Spokane, graduating from Ferris H. S. in 1970. Ed spent his early working years at Dick's Hamburgers and for the airlines in food service before moving into car sales. He spent his adult life working in the car sales industry for Jaremko Nissan, Center Ford, Empire Ford, Roff Ford, and Stewart Motors before he opened his own car lot on the corner of Mission and Division, Ed's Common Sense Motors. Ed loved his customers and considered each and every one of them friends. Many came back every few years to buy cars again and again, and many became fishing and golfing buddies. He knew anyone and everyone in the car industry and they all helped each other out and passed business along. Ed enjoyed the early morning hours, having coffee with Carol and spending time outdoors fishing in his boat or on the golf course. He also loved spending time boating with friends and watching sporting events. He loved playing cards with his buddies, his favorite games being gin and poker. Ed and Carol enjoyed making memories, traveling with family and friends to Mexico, Reno, Coeur d'Alene, and a yearly vacation for over 30 years to Stoneridge Resort with their kids and their family. Ed always made time for fun with family and friends and was usually the life of the party with his hilarious stories and infectious smile. He made everyone feel special and welcome at any event. He was a man of immense and unending generosity and would give you the shirt off his back, if you let him, or at least some of his famous barbeque cooking. Ed Bursch was a loving and self-giving husband, an amazing father and the most loyal friend. He was full of life and very much loved by all who knew him. Ed always lived life the way he wanted to. Ed, we love you and you will be missed.
