David Edward Spence, 51, who died Wednesday, was born in Houston. He came to Spokane in 1969 and graduated from Ferris High School in 1970. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Williamette University in 1974 and joined the Air Force after graduation. He received his Master of Science in North Dakota.
