In Memory

Mary Robinson

(Age 82)

Mary Robinson was born October 31st, 1938, the youngest of five children of William and Jewell Schneekloth of Flaxville, Montana. She passed away August 11th, 2021 from complications due to COPD.

Mom, Grandma, Teacher Friend, Seamstress, and Quilter, Mary was always learning, always teaching, and always sharing her wisdom (opinions too).

A proud graduate of Montana State University, she began her teaching career in Burbank, Washington while raising daughters Darcy and Stacy from her first marriage. In 1967, Mary married Al Robinson, a widower with 5 boys and Mary's world was turned upside down! The birth of Jeff in 1970 completed the family and a year later Mary and Al rounded up the troops and moved to Spokane. Both worked in Spokane until they retired- Mary as a Home Economics teacher at Ferris High School and Al with Nalley's Foods.

The next 20 years were spent raising kids into successful young men and women and caring for Al in his later years when his health was an issue.

After Al passed in 2002, Mary's retirement changed a bit and she spent 17-18 years traveling the world with Stacy on their sailboat tour, cruises with friends, or RV trips across the United States. Mom loved to travel!

The last 10 years of her life may have been her best years! She loved running Camp Gibby (her nickname) for the younger grandchildren. She started teaching again at Viking and became a prolific quilter. Anyone who showed an interest in sewing or quilting was her student!

After cooking countless excellent meals for the family, in retirement Mary took it upon herself to try every restaurant in Spokane – well at least those on the SouthHill, and tried many in Seattle and Orlando too!

Mary lived until the end!

Survived by seven of her eight children – Darcy Fogerty (Pat), Stacy Molitor (Scott), Jeff, Scott (Sally), Doug (Kathleen), Allan (Sonya), Kevin (Linda), Chris Benidetti, 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, her sister Sue and dozens of in-laws and friends! Buddy – her cat too!

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Jewell, her husband Al, her son Rich, and her brothers, Dave, Roger, and Bob, and many good friends!

Funeral services will be held August 30th at 1:00 PM, Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division, Spokane Washington. A

reception/informal gathering in remembrance will follow the service at Hennessey's.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation's to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery www.Vannessabehan.org
