Deceased Name: Robert Huneke - Spokane Memorial service for Robert Hamblen "Rob" Huneke, 48, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.

Mr. Huneke, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Sunday. He graduated from Ferris High School and received his bachelor of arts degree from Lewis and Clark College. He then graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law. He worked as a legal intern for Hamblen, Gilbert & Brooke and was admitted to the bar in December of 1977. Mr. Huneke opened his own practice in the Paulsen Building in 1977, practicing general law.

He was a founder the Spokane Lilac Bloomsday Association serving as president, was involved in the Clydesdale Runners Club and participated in a Hawaiian marathon. He was a member of the Washington State Bar Association, and was involved with the Sister City Association, Young Men's Christian Association, Deaconess Medical Center and was a former chair of the International Law Committee. Mr. Huneke also served as a board member in 1991 and 1993 on The Inland Northwest World Trade Council. Edition:

Lynette Howard (Spilker) (1970)

Rob, getting to know you when you opened your practice back in 1977 was such a joy.  We had some great laughs.  But to find out you actually went to Ferris and knew my brother was such a suprise.

I was so saddened when I heard you had passed, what a loss for all.  I will always remember your smile and your ability to keep me in reality.

It has been a while since you left us, but your spirit lives on....
