From his military career: September 10, 1958 – Oregonian pg 10 Plane Toll Names Told Spokane (AP) – The Air Force Tuesday issued the following list of casualties in the crash of two B52 bombers from Fairchild Air Force Base here Monday night. Thirteen are listed as having died and three survived, one being “Capt. David Birdsell, Spokane (Very serious condition.)”

David Donald Birdsell definitely was a teacher at Ferris in the Business Education Department. He started there when I did as a Freshman. (63-64). He was my teacher for typing. He left at the end of the 67 school year to go back to school to get his masters degree. He became a Counselor at North Central, then a Counselor/Teacher at Continuation High when it was on Wellesley. He was my Best Man at my wedding on 19-Apr-1974 (we're still married). His death date would be 1994. He retired from SD#81 to stay home to care of his wife who had MS. After she died, he basically gave up on life.
