BLANCHETTE, Richard Richard Blanchette, a wonderful brother, uncle, and friend, left this earth Thursday, April 29th, 2021 doing what he loved most: golfing. Richard passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack at the age of 65. Richard worked in construction as well as painting and sandblasting. He spent the last fifteen years working on various house builds. Richard loved to put his handyman skills to work for friends and family, and was known to take on home projects like shoveling snow, building projects, etc. for his friends as a way to help out and make their lives easier. Richard was a loyal and generous friend. He made it a point to always check in on those around him, and when he had the means available, he would give his friends the shirt off of his back. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. One of Richard's favorite pastimes was golf. He had a very close group of friends he played with regularly. He frequented the Red Dragon bar and had a great group of friends there with whom he thoroughly enjoyed sharing a drink, cheering on his Seahawks, and playing pool. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Pat and Zeke Blanchette, his sisters Jacquie Blanchette and Jan Meyers (Gary), also brother-in-law Mike Lindgren. Richard is survived by his twin sister Jeri Maxwell (Howard) of Fairbanks, AK; his sister Jill Lindgren of Ketchikan, AK; his brother Randy Blanchette of Spokane, WA; nieces Emily Parker (Jeremy) of New Orleans, LA and Mackenzie Smith (Trevor) of Fairbanks, AK; nephews Andrew Maxwell of Arcata, CA and Jason Wandler (Carrie) of Lake Forest Park, WA; and Godson Isaak Hurst (Collyn) of Seattle, WA. A celebration of life to honor Richard's memory will be held Wednesday, May 12th at 4pm at the Red Dragon Bar at Chan's Dragon Inn, 1406 W. 3rd Ave. in Spokane.
