Craig Adkison - Class Of 1969

ASHFORD, Wash. —

A helicopter today snagged the rope still connecting three dead mountain climbers and used it to lift them off the slopes of Mt. Rainier, where the trio apparently were killed by an avalanche, a national park spokesman said.

The recovery, near Liberty Ridge at about the 10,000-foot level of the 14,410-foot, ice-capped volcano, came four days after a search began for the overdue climbers. While identifications remained unconfirmed, authorities said they were believed to be David R. Kellokoski, 30, of Paradise, Calif.; Greg Remmick, 32, of Citrus Heights, Calif., and Craig Loyal Adkison, 37, of Kirkland, Wash.
