John passed away on July 30, 2015 in Spokane, WA. He was born in Snoqualmie, WA, on April 17, 1945 to William S. “Bill” Day, D.C. and Norma Mae Day. John graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic June 7, 1967. He was a 3rd generation Chiropractor, following his grandparents Drs. J.W. “Bill” and Laura S. Day (1921), father Dr. William S. “Bill” Day (1947) and Uncle Dr. James S. Day (1951) in graduating from Palmer College and operating Day Chiropractic Clinic. He was a master Chiropractor and great counselor.

John was extremely passionate about and involved in Washington state politics. He was chairman of the Washington State Chiropractic Disciplinary Board, Past President of the Chiropractic Society of Washington, charter member of the Washington State Chiropractic Association (a unification of 3 former state associations that he helped accomplish), lifetime member of the International Chiropractors Association, and past member and Sgt.at Arms of Spokane East Rotary.

John enjoyed spending his free time with friends and family. Some of his favorite activities included skiing and fishing on the lake, and skiing and hunting in the mountains. He also enjoyed challenging friends to a spirited card or board game. John had a great appreciation for food and drink. He will be remembered as someone who was quick with a joke and passionate about caring for his patients.

John is survived by his wife, Mary Grace Day, children Kelly (Jerry) Hofferth and Tracy Day, Scott Tweedy, Lisa (Ted) Miller, grandchildren Sydney and Madison Hofferth, Jack Day, Jesse and Kiley Miller, siblings Diana Grimm, Danial “Dan” Day, William “Bill” Day, Jr. and Timothy Day, D.C. (Svetlana), numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Day, Sr. and Norma Day.

John’s Celebration Of Life will be held Thursday, August 6th from 2:00 – 6:00 pm in the Isabella Ballroom at the Davenport Hotel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals On Wheels of Spokane, 1222 W 2nd Ave, Spokane, WA 99201.
