MUNDY, John G. "Scotty"

March 12, 1945-
June 17, 2016

Today (June 17, 2016) a light went out in our world and a new light came on in heaven. A great husband, father, Bumpa and friend is at peace after a long fight with Vascular Disease. He grew up in Spokane and in his early teens became the bat boy for the Spokane Indians Baseball Club. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1963, where he played football and other sports. He attended college for 1 ½ years, but was drafted into the Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning to civilian life, he drove for Central Premix for a time and later took over his father's welding business (where his nick name "Scotty" began). In 1989, he married the girl of his dreams and from that time forward, her children became (their) children, with heartfelt love, he was Dad! He drove bus for Spokane Transit for 25 years and retired from there. He is survived by his wife, Sherry at home; his daughters, Sindy (Ryan) Maxwell and Shannon Bergstrom; son, Justin (Christi) Bergstrom; by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He loved a good round of golf and liked to put a fishing rod in his hands and enjoyed a smile on his face! You will be greatly missed until we are together again... Love you Bumpa .
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 12 Noon at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA.

John was one of my best freinds throughout life. After high school we played many rounds of golf. Seems like life goes by too fast especially now at this age. Having been gone for many years it's hard to come back to this. I will miss him.
