At Libby Jr. Hi, we were in the same HR, # 23, teacher was George (spider legs) Alex. I wasn't close to Watson, but I could see he could be a tough guy if he need to be. I never saw him act tough or bully anyone.
This one time he was distressed over something and Spider Legs told him to sit down. Elbert was nearly in tears and finally sat down. Just a young black kid having a tough time, but I started to see how tough a time it could be for what ever reason. Actually he was pretty much a man. Funny the things you remember.
