Kirby and his wife Dianne were good friends for all these years. They were great people, great Pharmacists, and entrepenuers. They used their knowledge to help many people experience better lives. About 25 years ago they noticed perscriptions I needed filled and redirected me to the best Doctor in town for my issue. All these years later I remain dramatically healthier for their knowledge and still don't need that drug.

Kirby was born August 4, 1944 in Spokane, WA to Garnett Walter and Verdell Louise (Morgan) White 11 years after his older brother Louis Morgan White. As a child in St. John, WA Kirby enjoyed being on the family ranch and playing around the home in town. He was an allergic child and couldn't have indoor pets but his parents bought him a rescue pinto burro named Chico which he truly enjoyed. The White family moved to Spokane, WA in 1959. Kirby worked as a pharmacist in Pullman, WA at Corner Drug immediately after graduation from WSU. After Dianne graduated they both moved to Tacoma where Kirby took a job at Pay 'N Save. Soon after, Kirby and Dianne adopted Jesse and Emily. Shortly after Emily's arrival they bought Chewelah Pharmacy in 1977 and moved to Chewelah. Kirby and Dianne bought Platters Pharmacy in Spokane in 1986. Kirby was appointed to the Washington State Board of Pharmacy by Governor Mike Lowery in 1993 and proudly served four years. I spoke by phone with Kirby in the year prior to our LC 50th reunion. He told me he hoped he could attend the 2013 reunion but wasn't sure his health would allow it. Although it required much effort on his part, he happily surprised us by coming and was able to visit with many long-time friends. I am so sorry to read now of his passing. Kirby was caring, honest and fun-loving.  I will always cherish those memories of Kirby during our high school years. My heart goes out to his family for I know he will be greatly missed.
