Your Story Since HS:
In June of 1990 I married my high school sweetheart and the love of my life Daniel Mattingly. In August of 1990 we joined the U.S.Army. I had my first child, Danielle in 1990. Our first duty station was at Fort Ord,Ca. We spent three years there, in that time I had a second child, Anna, in 1992. We moved up to Tacoma, Wa. to be stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wa. in 1993. I had my third child, Kaitlyn there in 1993. We were stationed there for 9 years, during that time, Dan did a tour in Korea for 14 months. I was a stay at home Mom, until the last two years there, I went to college to start working on my nursing school prerequisites. I worked at a nursing assistant for the last two years we were stationed there. In 2001, we received orders for Landstuhl, Germany. We spent 3 years stationed there. The family loved being stationed in Germany. The kids didn't want to come home to the states. They loved travelling overseas. In 2004 we left Germany to be stationed at Ft. LeonardWood, Missouri. There I began Registered Nursing school. We were only there a little over a year and Dan received orders for Walter Reed Army Medical Center Washington D.C. in 2006. I transferred my nursing courses and finished RN school in Virginia. I work as a RN at Fairfax Nursing Center and Dan is an E-7 ( Sgt.First Class )at Walter Reed. He just finished E-8(Master Sgt) school. My daugters are 19, 17, and 16. We just celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary, and I am just as in love with him now, even more so than I was 19 years ago. He's my husband, my protector, my angel and my best friend. We will be retiring from the Army in 2010. We will reside in Virginia for about 4 more years, and then we will move to Florida to grow old together in the sunshine. NO more winter ever!! Dan is finishing his Bachelor's degree in history concurrently with his teaching education. He would like to teach at the junior high or high school level.
