only Ohio .. how boring is that? Xenia, Fairborn, Enon, Springfield to be specific
Bradford in Columbus ... Secretarial School ... BORING ... but, I graduated with honors!
City of Xenia, Ohio
part-time since 1997 then full-time since June 2003
Hmmmmmm ... I have good days and bad days, but overall, I like my job.
hmmmm, photographer or massage therapist
thank goodness, none yet!
Tyler is 15 and Josh is 12 ... both are great kids. They get good grades and participate in many sports ... track, baseball, football, used to do soccer and wrestling. Tyler attends our Alma Mater, Greenon High School ... he is very serious and intuitive ... a deep thinker. He is an honors student, an athlete, and loves history/war stories. He aspires to be an aeronautical engineer. Josh is attending Indian Valley ... he is very happy go lucky (when he was a baby, I called him 'my little ray of sunshine' cuz he was so happy). Not much seems to phase him (except when his brother teases him ... that really makes him mad!). Josh is also a straight A student and an athlete. I am so proud of them both!
Izzy, who is a yellow lab/Golden Retriever, was such a great addition to our family.
After high school, I attended a business college in Columbus; Sheri Pruitt (Andrus) was my roommate! We had a blast! Graduated with honors and then obtained my first real job for Greene County. Worked there for 9 1/2 years before I quit in December 1998 to be a stay-at-home-mom. Hardest job ever. Really. Bought the house Cathy Wunder grew up in in 1998, and we lived there for 6 years. It was weird at first, because I had spent so much time there growing up. Started working full-time for Xenia in 2003, and we sold "Gibson", aka the Wunder's house, in 2004 and purchased the home we live in today, which is in Springfield near the guard base off of 794. As for what we do now, David is a Springfield Firefighter/Paramedic, and I am the City Clerk for the City of Xenia. We stay very busy with our kids' numerous activities, and our independent activities (David's band and head coaching responsibilities and Michelle's REUNION PLANNING!). We love to vacation (who doesn't?) -- anywhere from the beach, to a cruise, to Disney, to visit family, or anywhere our Camper can hook up!
20-Year Reunion--WOW! What a great weekend! Honestly, I was happy to see it end ('cuz of all the work) but also sad ('cuz it will be another 5 years before I see some of you again) ... maybe a yearly thing should be planned ... ANY TAKERS???
High school was pretty uneventful for me. I ran track in 9th grade (I just wanted to get a good tan, which I did!) and was a cheerleader in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. Loved going to the cheer camps every summer at Wittenberg. Worked at Friendly's in Fairborn with several other GHS students during our Senior Year (everyone else worked at Young's!). One very vivid memory I have of high school was playing "hide-n-seek" (yes, we liked to play hide-n-seek even at that age!) at Greg Jurick's house when he put his arm through the glass door and almost bled to death! REALLY. The best part about high school was meeting my future husband, although neither of us knew it at the time. (Thanks for getting me through Algebra Freshman Year, first period!) We did however go out the summer before our junior year ... we went to see TOP GUN! I also established many friendships during high school that I still have today. I still see lots of people who still live in this area--especially during baseball and football season!
SOOOOO glad to be done with High School
Yup! Still see lots of people ... Jay and Sarah Young, Randy and Jackie Potter, Steve and Susan Harper, Cathy and Kismet Wunder, just to name a few. Communicate with a lot of people via e-mail and facebook. See even more people around Enon all the time.
Is cheerleading a sport? Oh wait ... I ran track my Freshman year (I mean, I got a great tan my Freshman year!)
Unfortunately, no. Wish I would have now.
Going to state in basketball and soccer our sophomore year. Being on the news and having a parade through Enon just for us. That was cool.
Mr. Dunstan
Mr. Carlton ... 6th grade at Indian Valley
the beach ... without question (or a cruise, which includes a beach at some point)
David would say the mountains (CO), but I'd say at a beach somewhere
Duh ... websites of course! I administer this one, started and then passed off ones for Enon Peewee Football, Enon Little League, and MRGE Rec Basketball. I also like to go camping and roller blade. I enjoy creating anything ... t-shirts, custom invitations, Christmas cards, memory books, etc. My latest passion is ZUMBA!
I have 4 sisters and 5 brothers ... really ... Karen, Melinda, and Trina are my full-blood sisters; Tim, Chuck and Shannon are my step-brothers; Rob and Chuck are my half-brothers; and Emily is my half-sister. WHEW! AND, when I was 4, we lived in Xenia and survived the 'famous' F5 tornado that destroyed the city. AND, when I was 9, my real dad took my sisters and me to Fantasy Farm. While riding the Scrambler, the door flew open and I flew OUT! Left a nice bump on my head ... :-(
People need to be responsible for themselves. I believe in taking care of people that are in need, but I'm not a fan of taking care of lazy people who are sponges off the system and refuse to work. I've had enough of that. We need to take care of OUR COUNTRY first. ARGH!
Emmitt Smith / Dallas Cowboys ... was on David's and my honeymoon cruise back in 1995. Very cool. I got to boogie next to him one night! He's just a little guy ... but built like a brick sXXthouse.
And, we've run into Dave Chappelle (sp?) a few times ... me at City Hall cuz he owns property in Xenia and us on Father's Day at The Greene ... his family ate at the same restaurant as us.
Wow ... to visit New York City, the Grand Canyon, to go to Hawaii, to go to Alaska, to drive cross country in an RV .... hmmm I'll have to think more about that.
I like it all, except Opera. Country is my roots, cuz I'm a West Virginia girl, but I like R & B, jazz, gospel, easy listening, rock ... depends on my mood.
They were for David ... Apocolyptica and Shinedown's new album
Toss up between Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Madonna, and Janet Jackson
Sugarland, Luke Bryan (mmmmm hmmmm), Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood
John Denver with Barb McGavern in 4th grade!!!, Garth Brooks, Reba, Martina McBride, Janet Jackson, Brooks and Dunn, Kenny Chesney/Keith Urban/Dierks Bently, Richard Marx, Wynonna, Sugarland/Little Big Town, Jason Aldean/Luke Bryan ... maybe more ... I'll think about it!
Jason Aldean/Luke Bryan ... AWESOME! I was shakin' it!
I guess I'll pick the ones I'd watch on a rainy day ... I'm old school ... Say Anything, Weird Science, Pretty in Pink, Urban Cowboy, Dirty Dancing, Never Been Kissed, The Notebook, ... you know .. chick flicks ;-)
Magic Mike ... it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad. Left the movie before it even ended. However, the dancing was good.
Any cooking show, any reality show (I know, I know ...), any singing/talent competition show ... I KNOW!
Yes, I'm a Fifty Shades junkie. Read the series 3x. Yes, three.
oiy ... since David bought me a Nook, I've read over 200 books on it ...
Texas Roadhouse ... hands down ... I also love me some mexican food! YUM!
"You learn more from your failures than you do your successes." and my mom's favorite was "Can't can't do anything."
Having my children ... it's amazing what a woman's body can do and create ... to hold them for the first time was breathtaking.
Standing around my Stepdad's hospital bed the other day and telling him he had cancer all over his body. That was gut wrenching. Literally, it was painful. And then, just 3 weeks later, watching him take his last breath. It is a moment forever etched in my memory.
my family ... blueberry pancakes ... camp fires ... homemade popcorn ... a good cup of coffee ... chocolate ice cream ... good friends ... people that do what they say they are going to do ... a clean house (that I didn't clean) ... my hair stroked when I'm sick ... clean sheets from a laundry line ... the first warm and sunny day of the year ... breaking the still of a pool with a cannon ball ... turning the radio up loud and singing to my favorite song at the top of my lungs with the windows and sunroof open ... special moments with my boys (all three of them) ... vacation! ... Dove chocolate ... CHERRY twizzlers ... hearing my kids belly laugh ... seeing a senior citizen couple holding hands (still in love ... so cute!) ... I'll think of more!
wow ... I have so many ... people that think they know everything ... and tell you all about it ... people that cut you off while driving ... people that are simply inappropriate ... racist jokes ... ignorant people ... lazy people ... dog poop on my shoes ... repetitive noises (and I married a drummer ... what was I thinking!) ... hmmm ... I'll think of more!
