Scott “Hollywood” was a graduate of Springfield North High School class of 1974. On to graduate from the C.I.A(Culinary Institute of America) in Hyde Park NY. He was an incredible, hardworking, and loyal chef. He spent many years creating in the kitchens of the “Conservatory” in Covington KY and then to finish out his career at the “Montgomery Inn the Boathouse”. Not yet ready to retire, He worked another five years at United Courier.
While culinary was his first passion, he also became quite involved in bodybuilding, then scuba diving. Originally conning his wife Jenniffer into getting certified so they could get married in Grand Cayman and spend their honeymoon scuba diving.
As always, he wasn’t to be content being “Just a Diver”. While working 12-16hour days in a hot kitchen he also accomplished becoming a dive instructor. Spending many weekends teaching and certifying students. His passion for diving took He and Jenniffer to many dive destinations in the Caribbean. Including getting technical dive training in the Dominican Republic from “JC”.
When Scott wound down his diving instructor side career, he took up competition shooting. Amassing all the bells and whistles as his way of doing things. …” All or none!”
His love for his Golden Retrievers Finn and Tess took him to getting a Facebook page devoted to Golden Retrievers.
In all of this he was ever committed to God and sobriety for the last 30 years of his life.
With all the adversity thrown his way, the many years of orthopedic surgeries, to an ALS diagnosis He continued His ever-positive attitude of “One Day At A Time” and finding one funny thing a day. He always had gratitude, even at his darkest hour.
The ability to sum up one’s life in a few words is a difficult task. At best I could sum him up as “A chef of life”, accrue many passions and form many friendships, add family and Fur-babies. Elegantly combine them together, forever folding in the ingredients of life. The extra spice to throw in is “A 5-year-old” …” A man is always a 5 year old. The older He is, the more experience he has at being a 5-year-old.” He was my “5 year old, My everything.” I will always love you my sweetest husband.
A celebration of life has been planned for Sunday December11, 2022 at the Anderson Heritage Center 8 Mile Rd. Cincinnati OH 45255 Family & Friends welcome from 2:00-4:00pm
Please feel free to share stories of Scott “Hollywood” Acton

RIP Scott !! One thing I remember about Scott is his love for wrestling in high school. We always knew when there was a meet because he always wore his rubber top over his cloths so he could be assured that he would make his weight class. He was also a fan of Michigan. Go Blue Scott !!

What a beatiful tribute to a life well lived! I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I knew Scott from the time of some of my earliest memories. We attended the same church and probably pre-school, then elementary through high school. Our dads both graduated from the Univ. of Michigan law school and practiced law together, so of course we were fellow Michigan fans in Buckeye territory. What I remember most about Scott is that he always seemed to have a smile on his face and a wicked sense of humor. Once, many years ago he called me out of the blue and we laughed and reminisced about life in Springfield as if no time had gone by at all. Rest in Peace, Scott.

If you watched the Ohio State Michigan game, you know Scott is smiling down on all of us.    The North memories with Scott.   Wrestling matches, basketball championships , Proms, homecoming   All bigger than life moments with this dear man.     Matt Sanders and I had the privelage to visit with Scott and his wife in August.  He faced this horrible disease with humor, grace, and faith    Family, diving and his pups were his passion     I'll miss you my old friend

Scott's family and mine were connected through our parents.  I remember the wonderful dinners our families held together and the times "the kids" hung out.  Scott had such a positive outlook on life when many could have been bitter.
