I had classes with Tom all through high school. We were not close friends, but we talked every day. He was easy going. I would bring in copies of the latest National Lampoon and we would read them.

Later about 1977, I got 2 tickets to Led Zeppelin at Riverfront through Tom, and I was dating a high school girl who lived out in Harmony, and I brought her to the concert - which was really not a good idea.

Tom was sitting in the row in front of us and I got a contact high just sitting there. And I thought I was having a "bad trip", man.

So I asked Tom to sit in my seat to protect my date from some of the other less than sober fans, and there were many.  I went to the first aid station and noticed there were kids with bandages and some passed out on cots. I told the nurse that I thought I was freaking out, and she gave me an aspirin and told me to go back to my seat, and not come back.

Tom was a gentleman and looked out for my date and me. And we did have a pretty good time, after all. I mean it was Zeppelin.

RIP Tom.

Tom is a very good friend of mine and I will miss him very much. I was fortunate to have been able to see him and get some groceries for him three weeks before his passing. I only wish that I could have done more for him. I will miss the Saturday evenings playing ping pong with Tom and Donny in his basement when I went home   to visit. Rest In Peace 🙏🏻
