Brent Douglas REAM Obituary

REAM, Brent Douglas 61, of Springfield, passed away at the OSU Medical Center on December 6, 2017 due to complications from his second lung transplant. Brent was born July 19, 1956 and the beloved son of Helen (Jeanne) Souders Ream and George W. Ream (deceased). Brent was a loving father to his sons: Brent Christopher Ream and Scott Douglas Ream. He was a treasured brother to Gay (Mike) Ray, Uncle to Polly (Jeremy) Franz and Michael (Molly) Ray and a dear friend to Mark and Karen Lotz, Craig Miller, Eric Brown, Dennis Boone and cousin Mark Souders and family. Brent was a passionate car enthusiast his entire life. Brent graduated from Springfield North High School and was a member of First Christian Church. Brent was a skilled machinist and dedicated staffing supervisor during his working career. Brent was quick witted and had many talents. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, infant sister Brenda Kay Ream and great niece Olivia. Services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017, 1 p.m. visitation 2 p.m. funeral at the Chapel at Ferncliff Cemetery, Pastor Brian Borton officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Mental Health Services of Clark and Madison County, 474 North Yellow Springs Street, Springfield, OH 45504 or your favorite charity.

So sorry to hear this.  I was sitting next to Brent in a study hall in December of '73.  He left for awhile and came back.  He said excitedly that he had just visited a counselor.  He found that he could graduate early, in January.  He urged me to go visit the counselor as well.  In a few short weeks, I was out of high school and on with life.  Thank you Brent!
