Classmate Virgil D. Martin passed away July 14, 2012.  He is survived by his mother, Irene Eskue of Springfield; a son, Michael of Springfield; a daughter, Savannah Martin of Springfield; two brothers, Shane and Shawn, both of Springfield; and two sisters, Rachel Burch and Sara Martin of Newport.  Virgil was the Indian Education Coordinator for the Springfield School District. He worked hard and raised two wonderful children. He was proud of his heritage and was glad to share it with others. Virgil was a great cook and loved Pow-Wows. He had a kind and gentle heart and will be missed by many.
