Obituary for John Lawrence Raymond

John Lawrence "Fada" Raymond, 74, of Honolulu, a retired Honolulu Police Department sergeant and an Air Force veteran, died in Honolulu. He was born in Springfield, VT. He is survived by wife Shirley T.; daughter Stacey-Ann K. and hanai daughter Martha Fontana-Kwon. Visitation 9:00 a.m. Saturday (01/11) Holy Trinity Catholic Church; eulogy 10:00 a.m.; Mass 11:00 a.m. Inurnment 2:15 p.m. Diamond Head Memorial Park. Casual attire.

HONOLULU, Hawaii - John Lawrence "Fada" Raymond, 74, died Dec. 17, 2013, in Honolulu.

 He was born Aug. 12, 1939, in Springfield, Vt., the son of Carleton L. and Ann S. (Bergeron) Raymond.

 He attended Springfield schools and graduated from Springfield High School, class of 1958.

 He served in the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Honolulu.

 Following his discharge from the military service, he was employed for many years with the Honolulu Police Department.

 Survivors include his wife Shirley, a daughter Stacey-Ann and hanai daughter Martha Fontana-Kwon.

 He was predeceased by his parents.

 A Catholic Mass was held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Honolulu, with inurnment at Diamond Head Memorial Park.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful visit with John while on vacation in June of 2012. He was full of life and had such a wonderful sense of humor. He told us great stories about his life in Hawaii and career with the police force. We will cherish his memory.
