Richard H. "Denver" Jones, 70, of Clovis, NM, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, 14 November 2011.
Denver was born 31 December 1940, in Springfield, VT. He was married 12 October 1963, in Bellows Falls, VT, to Janet O'Neill. He graduated from Springfield High School, Springfield, VT, in 1959, earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chapman University in 1995, and a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle University in 1998. Denver proudly served in the United States Air Force for 30 years retiring in 1989 from Cannon AFB as a Chief Master Sergeant. His time in the Air Force took him to many places around the world among them the Philippines, Massachusetts, Florida, Arizona, Holland, Turkey, Thailand, Okinawa, New Hampshire, and Iceland. Following his military career, he worked for the United States Postal Service. In 1972, he earned his ticket as a Private Pilot, was a Master Scuba Diver, and an avid reader. He was also an adjunct professor at Embry Riddle University.
Richard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janet; daughters, Brenda (husband, Mark Andrews); Patricia (husband, Patrick Humpf); grandsons, Brian Andrews (wife, Jennifer); and Patrick Andrews.
A private service is planned with Father Sotero Sena officiating. Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetary.
