Alan P. Krasofski
Obituary
TUCSON, Ariz. - Born March 7, 1940, to Stanley and Ida Krasofski, in Springfield, VT, and he passed away Feb. 11, 2017, in Tucson, AZ. He was raised in Springfield and served in the U.S. Army (ASA) in the early-1960s, stationed in the U.S. and Korea. Alan married his wife, Kip (Ruth Rheineck), on March 27, 1967.

His long career in the travel industry included employment with Northwest and Eastern Airlines, owner of three travel agencies in ND and VT and a motorcoach tour company in MN. His love of travel brought him to six of the seven continents and he often named the South Island of New Zealand as his favorite destination. He held a position in finance with a large company in Shakopee, MN, before retirement.

The Krasofskis moved to Tucson in 2005, and they considered the Sonoran Desert paradise. Al became renowned as an amateur photographer and his photographic images have been appreciated around the world. He also took great joy in utilizing the desert woods in artistic ways and forming a community hiking group which has continued for nearly a decade.

Alan is survived by his wife of nearly a half century; his daughter, Ann-Marie, and son-in-law, Cordell Yeager, of Loveland, CO; his son, Daniel, of Los Angeles, CA; his sister, Jean Bishop, of Springfield, VT; extended family and an extraordinary number of treasured friends.

Alan donated his remains to science research and education. Memorials may be sent to "Friends of Saguaro National Park" online at friendsofsaguaro.org.
