OBITUARY

Jon Dwight Chadwick

March 23, 1941 – March 15, 2025

Jon Chadwick, age 83, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, just eight days before his 84th birthday. Jon was born on March 23, 1941 in Springfield, Vermont to Richard and Frances Horsky Chadwick.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Richard Chadwick, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ginny; a daughter, Jennifer Tulloch (Tom); two grandchildren, William and Margaret; a sister, Gayle Chadwick Fratkin (John), and two brothers, Earl Chadwick (Patricia) and Dennis Chadwick (Danielle).

Jon graduated with a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL and after working in the space industry for a number of years on the east coast, moved back to Sarasota where he was a general contractor, real estate broker, and owner operator of the Cypress Inn Restaurant for many years.

Jon became a licensed ham radio operator when he was eleven, drove a big Harley and loved boating, fishing and hiking the Appalachian Trail. His summers spent in Virginia on the Rappahannock River and Chesapeake Bay with his family and fishing buddies were the happiest times of his life...especially when his precious daughter and family visited! His grandchildren were the light of his life.

He loved challenges and hard work and could fix anything. He was a man of faith, strength and integrity.

Services will be private by the family.

Memorial donations in Jon's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or The American Heart Association.
