Miranda Loveless Horne

After high school I went to the U of U where I majored in Music Education. I was a percussionist and played in the drumline and the award-winning Ute percussion ensemble. After graduating, I taught band, orchestra, guitar and piano at Bonneville High School in Ogden for 4 years. I lived in Idaho for a year after my first daughter was born. We were soon back in Utah and I started working in the Davis School District teaching orchestra, guitar and general music. I went back to school in 2005 and got my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. I am currently a 6-12th grade orchestra director for the Davis School District. I teach part time at three schools each week, including West Point Junior High School, Lakeside Elementary and West Clinton Elementary. Music still is my life, just like it was in high school. I also enjoy spending time with my beautiful children, who are all very musical as well. My second to the oldest daughter is deaf and has a cochlear implant. It makes me feel a bit like Mr. Holland! I was divorced in 2010 and remarried Carl Horne in 2020.

Where do I start?!? The Hi's trips to Logan, the marching band trips to San Francisco, choir trips to San Diego, being in the infamous Sam Tsugawa's first orchestra class, "The Murder Room," "The Good Doctor," and "It was a Dark and Stormy Night" school plays! I still remember everytime Coach Clements would talk about his wife and start to cry. I thought that was so sweet. Bro. Christianson in seminary changed my life in so many ways. I'm sure that serving school lunch to pay for my choir trips every year got me to where I am today...NOT!! High school was one of the best times of my life and I still miss it! Can't believe it's been so many years ago!
