After high school I started college at UVCC and then transfered and finished by degree at Weber State University as an outreach student. I graduated as a Radiologic Technologist in 1994 and landed my dream job at Primary Childeren's Hospital. I remember running into Casey Carlson a couple times.
A few years earlier in 1992 I married Trevor Greene, a BYU student from Washington State and also cousin to Nicole Robertson (Sorenson). Thank you Nicole!
In the fall of 1994, after only working 6 months at Primary Children's, we moved back to Trevor's home town of Yakima, Washington where he started teaching spanish.
In 1996 our first daughter, Payton was born. This event greatly changed my life. Not only did I become a mother, but this also brought about my second career. A friend of mine also had her first child at this time and because I wasn't going back to work asked if I would watch her little boy. One thing led to another and I have now been running a small daycare for school district employees (I love my summers off) for almost 13 years. The neatest part of all is that I have been able to stay home with my kiddos while earning a little extra money. I have also been able to provide a fun and loving home for 35+ children either full-time or part-time over the past years. (If someone had told me this is what I would be doing in 20 years I would have never believed them).
To bring you to the present - Trevor is now a High School Principal and I continue my daycare for the love of the kids and families. In two years my youngest, Easton will be in kindergarten and we will have possibly moved to a new town. People are always asking if I will continue doing daycare. I don't know. Maybe I will go back to career #1 or start on career #3. I haven't yet decided what I'm going to do when I grow up.
Some of the hobbies or interests that I have developed over the last 20 years include:
-Cooking and collecting recipies
-Scrapbooking-which I never have time for
-Reading-which I rarely have time for
-Cleaning-I know I'm pathetic, but it's very theraputic and I love the end results. I just wish it lasted.
-Kids (mine and others), games, crafts, children's books, toys-I spend a lot of time doing this.
Traveling-I love traveling and am looking forward to doing more. Our family vacations are usually trips to Utah to see family or the traditional trip to disneyland. Trevor and I have had the opportunity to go to Mexico and Europe. He has been to Europe four times but I have only made it two of the times. We toured France, Spain and Italy. It was amazing and I look forward to going back. Most of our other traveling has been to Canada and the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
