I brought the firecracker to school and Sr. Margaret Rose held the string on one end and I held the string on the other end. I told her it was my science project.
Naively she asked "what happens now?" I said "you pull the string." She did and it went off.
Sr. Augusta Marie called my mother and asked "Do you know where your son got this 'fire-arm'?" My mother said "Fire-arm?!" She said "You know. It goes 'boom'!" My mother said "Oh, you mean a firecracker! HE got it from his father who brought them home from a recent sales trip down south."
Needless to say I never brought a "fire-arm" to school again.
