I am currently a software engineer at FlightSafety International in Hazelwood, MO. FlightSafety is the world's premier developer of flight simulators. Think Microsoft Flight Simulator on steroids. Lots and lots of steroids. I'm in my second stint at FlightSafety (I guess I learned my lesson) and have been there going on 10 years now.
I married Maureen in September 1994. She is currently the assistant director of the Echo department at Biomedical Systems in West Port. Biomedical Systems does centralized data processing for medical and pharmaceutical clinical trials. She is in her second stint at Biomedical Systems (see a trend here?), however her excuse is much more noble (and less greedy) than mine. She took a few years off to get the kids through the rough birth to kindergarten years, then was lucky enough to get a great position back with the same company.
As I'm sure is no different for any parent these days, our kids take up most of our free time. Eric is very much into Boy Scouts, and has made Life Scout in less than two years. This summer, he'll be gone at camps more often than he's home, including a 2 week stint at the National Jamboree in Virginia. During the fall, he plays soccer for his school, and most summers he enjoys swimming with the city swim team.
Anna is our athlete. She loves (in order of preference) soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, swimming (did I forget anything?). She's also quite a talented piano player.
Elizabeth tries to keep up with Anna. They are only 14 1/2 months apart (no, we weren't thinking), so have been best friends since the day she was born. She also loves soccer and basketball. She's my one blue-eyed baby and can melt your heart with her smile.
So, with 3 kids and only 2 of us, most of our time is spent making sure the kids need to be where they are supposed to be. I've tried to incorporate my hobbies with the kids (ie. Boy Scout leader, soccer coach, assistant basketball coach), so it's like I'm killing two birds with one stone. Maureen has recently started running whenever she can (luckily for me, she always comes back!), and is currently training for her first half-marathon (13.1 miles - wouldn't it be easier to just drive there?).
It's a little surreal for me to be still in St. Charles, as now I'm seeing many former classmate at school functions where our kids are now in school together (that's St. Charles Borromeo, with some apologies to my fellow St. Elizabeth/St. Roberts alumnae).
25 years already? I don't feel a day over 30.
