Died in the Learjet crash in suburban Chicago.
Stephen was born in Savannah, GA and moved to the St. Cloud area in 1986. He is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Benae, and 7-year old daughter, Autumn. Autumn was the light of his life. Also, stepfather to Jordan and Kristoffer Olson, and 3 step-grandchildren.
Son of Stephen M. Ellis, Sr. and Virginia “Ginger” Ellis, Sartell, and Linda (JD) Kelly of Savannah, GA.
Sisters Michelle (Jacob) Smith, Mary and Amanda Kelly,
all of Savannah, GA; brother Aaron Ellis, Baxter, MN; stepbrothers Michael (Tina) Graham, Cambridge, MN, Brian (Angie) Graham, Big Lake, MN, James Graham, Sartell.
Stephen was a 1990 graduate of Apollo High School. He graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics in 2000 and flight instructed at Air Motive in Brainerd for 2 years before moving to Waterford, MI, where he flew freight for Royal Air Transport for 6 years. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee Ellis Jr., Merle Ellis, and Robert Sears.
