School Story:
I guess it was an assembly of some sort but we were singing the "Jingle Bell Travel Log" which was a medley of Jingle Bells sung in the culture style and fashion of a few different countries. One was a Hawaiian/Beach Boys style then another was in Germany, perhaps something else as well but I don't remember. I do remember that there was an Asian themed version that we all new and loved but never had the soloist do their part. All of these versions of Jingle Bells were extremely unpolitically correct, but to me that is what made it all that much funnier. So sue me. So as we went through each individual section of the song and had a great time, we finally got to the Asian portion of the song. Now this is definitely a "you had to be there" story but if you could picture or remember when Norm Lister turned around and faced the audience, put on a rice hat and sang Ching gu pow aka jingle bells, you would have lost all composure and laughed as much as we did along with the audience. The crowed absolutley roared with laughter and us as the choir, barely was able to finish the song. Mr. Lister was our hero.
