A Fabulous Event for All! Our Reunion.

The reunion was excellent and I can confidently say that everyone had fun.  There were probably 125 people there and everyone was mingling.  I was impressed with the success and accomplishments of our group.  I found everybody to be so interesting, friendly, open and GROWN UP!  Although, I only had minutes with each person I visited with, I tried to remember a look, a smile, a story or something about them that I could take away from the experience.  I have always been interested and passionate about people: who they are, what they are about, and passions they have...which is probably why I remember so much of what people share with me.

I was able to visit, briefly, at the end of the night with Danny Winzen.  He is amazing.  He uses a communication system to spell out words to help him communicate and answer questions.  When I was leaving I said, "I'm glad you came, it was good to see you" he proceeded to give me the thumbs up sign!  He and Ted Ketzenberg are best friends to this day!  Ted is a super nice guy who stood by Danny the whole night and many of our classmates got the pleasure of speaking to both of them.

Mr. Sciortino, the Principal, was there. He looked great!  He is just as nice as he was when we were in Junior High, not that I visited him too much!  Mr. McMillan was there too!  I visited with Mr. Katsaras who was my guidance counselor at East. The first two were special guests of Les Steinberg!

Kenny Gast is tall & handsome! He told me that every time he thinks of me, the worst moment of his life is relived! I do that to people, I guess. Actually, I helped him through this difficult, even life changing moment. So I did not take offense!

One of our classmates, and I won't embarass her by giving her name, said to me, "You look SOOO much better than you did in Junior High!"  I interpreted that as her saying, "You look terrific!  You are SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!" Of course I did not look as good 30 years ago...it was JUNIOR HIGH! LOL.

David Brown is as delightful as ever! He has humor and did you know he has a great voice too?  He sang for us (at a table I was at with Leslie Stevens, Cindy Musterman, Ellie Grossman, Julie Hurwitz, Julie Horowitz and Jeff Eiseman).  If you ever need a partner for a trivia night, ask David...your team will win!

Todd Breedlove is still so cute and & nice to boot! He is successful in his own Company, "Chemicals" (LOL, Les and Todd) & has 2 of the most adorable kids ever...no he did not bring them, only pictures of them (which I was happy about).

Tina McCoy went from tiny and shy to tiny, outgoing and beautiful! Kathleen Jasper and Jenny Schultze (whom I did not speak to) were gorgeous, not that it matters, but wow!

Anyone need a good Lawyer? Les Steinberg was there with his humor & wit! I forgot how much I enjoyed his company.  Mike Berger, Mike Bender? Both successful business owners & really nice guys! Mike Berger is a manufacturer of something to do with equipment while Mike Bender is an Occupational Therapist and deals with getting prostheses for people who have had amputations.

Susie Cohen, Susie Levin-there. Both looking exactly the same.  Susie Cohen and I were neighbors in jr high. We exchanged numbers to follow this with a lunch. Crystal Freeman--the same person in looks & personality along side a real nice man who said, "I think my last name should read Freeman-Cunetto!"...because he looked so much like one of us (btw, he mingled like us too).

Who was our classmate that had a role on True Blood? And was a Dancer? She was there! None other than...Leslie Stevens! It was nice visiting with her...She hasn't changed a bit.  Need a Vet? Call Anne Broeder! Yet another of our successful classmates and a really nice, down to earth person! I had such fond memories of her and now I see why.  Joyce Huseman looked beautiful and she was there.  Diana Allen, Ginger Fawcett, Linda Bloomfield-Madigan and Sonya Moranz were all there!  The nicest, most creative guy was there.  You probably think he is quite and shy, but inside he is amazing.  It is none other than Mr. Kevin Levin!

Julie HUR and HORowitz were there! Julie Horowitz lives in NYC & works at MTV. While Julie Hurwitz is an author and writer. See, I'm tellin you...successful people here.
Chrissa Povopolous (I may have messed up that spelling) and Cindy Musterman have remained friends all this time and they couldn't be nicer people! Cindy and I reconnected and had dinner together with Ellie Grossman before the reunion.  That is a new-old friendship that will continue.  BTW, before being a mom, Chrissa worked at Bowing as a high executive.  Cindy owns a college and also has a law degree! Janine Flynn-Gutman is going by Jaye Flynn now in case you want to look her up on FB. She used to own a Massage Envy franchise before becoming a mom & staying at home. What a nice, nice person! I look forward to being in touch with her again as well.

Remember Stephanie Berin? There! Turns out she lives 1 mile from me & I never see her. David Bailey looked excellent such a nice guy, too. I had a great visit with Andy Brown. He is an Orthopedic Surgeon near KC. We talked about the differences between our generation and the current one.

Anne Dressel looked amazing, I guess the vote of "most fit" was a prelude of what was to come!  she and I did not get a chance to talk...we just ran out of time.  Lori Fix? You wouldn't recognize her.  So sweet to be with and to talk to.  Michele Finbloom & I have been in touch.  She is so much fun to be with and her sense of humor is priceless.  Greg Farr was there-a gentle guy who seems unassuming. But from what I understand, he is handy to have around.  He helped make this event a success.  I got to talk to Jeff Eisseman for a bit. It is always good to see him! He was and is such a nice guy with nice perspective.  Juli Gerstein is exactly the same! So, so nice and relaxed!

Laura Keister is great. It is funny how some people's personalities don't change.  Hers has not.  she is the same interesting person she was back in Jr High.  It was nice to see her again. Okay, who in our class had a funny name that included the word "lips"? Yes, Joan Ottenlips was there. We were in a pic together, but did not talk much. Remember Lori Oberdorfer? The same! She and I have been in touch over the years and I am glad for that!

Apparently, I missed Lisa Furfine. She was there and several people reported how wonderful she looked.  Although Lisa Fuchs, Jay Bryan, Holly Johnson, Steve Crouppen, Laura Weber and Julie Bernstein were there, we either said a quick hello or did not get to talk. There were many classmates there and it was hard to reach them all. I saw that Margaret Shoptaw brought her yearbooks to share with everyone! The memories and discussions surrounding those books were great. Jill Spiegelglass and I spoke briefly. She looks great & is doing well.

People we missed seeing, that I can think of? Andrew Cytron, Ben Tischler, Barb Richter, Lisa Albert, Gay Lipman, Tracie Madden, Cheryl Siegel, Nancy Hoffman, Sharon Rabushka, Shelie Miller, mike Komm, Stacy Joffe, Ken Krause, Dawn Lackus, Kelly Lacks, Cheryl Weber, Cindy Platzer, Beth Wasserman, Suzanne Ertzgaard and Mary Smith. There were many others that obviously were not there, but through the night, these names came up.
Sorry for the long update. For those of you on FB, I did change the synopsis a bit. For those not on FB, I hope this helps you share the night with us! I am sorry you were not able to join us!  I have attached a picture of me with Mr. Santino and Mr. McMillan.

Amy posted a fabulous review of the reunion.  I spent my plane ride working on a blog post.  It turned out to be so long that it's going to be several blog posts.  Here's the first one:

The other blog posts will be at www.chloedevlin.com in the next couple of days. Hope you guys enjoyed the weekend as much as I did.
