Aw, this makes me very sad. Dan and I were very good friends at East. I have vivid memories of sitting in the back of Monsieur Assouad's French class drawing Kiss logos and trying to guess Zeppelin songs by tapping the rhythms with our pencils. I have no idea how we lost Dan. This is the first I heard of his death. RIP Mr. Bentele.

Wow, I'm blown away. Dan and I were fraternity brothers in college at Texas Christian University. Not known by me, but Dan had an incredible knowledge of music. Once re acquainted after the start of our freshmen year at TCU, he and I once discussed some of our favorite Clash songs. He in his plaid button down and I with ears pierced and some kind of quasi Joe Strummer hairdo. Usually quite but much going on in that big ol' head of his.

I have fond memories of our musical debates/discussions at East. It was always entertaining listening to Dan pontificate about his favorite songs and bands.

15 years past when Dan recognized me at a show in University City. Over drinks we discovered we both attended school in TX and frequented many of the same clubs in Deep Ellum. We liked many of the same bands that played in that area.

2009, I was looking forward to seeing Dan again and telling him about meeting Robert Plant. I never got the chance. Dan, I figure the music you're checking out now trumps anything I've seen or heard in the past 15 years. Will miss our musical musings.
