Following graduation, I entered Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy (later, University of Missouri at Rolla). While there I joined the Marine Corps, married Wilma, graduated with a B.S and M.S. in electrical engineering, and became a father. My service as a Marine meant frequent moves and travel adventures - stationed in seven different states (including six separate times in Virginia), and visited 25 different countries. I retired from the Marine Corps in 1992, and went to work for Logicon in Sierra Vista, AZ as an engineering manager. My work supported Operational Test and Evaluation of automated information systems, communications systems, and high performance computing modernization. Four years later, Northrop Grumman Corporation acquired Logicon, and transferred me to Albuquerque, NM as a business developer. My work there involved Directed Energy (high energy lasers and high power microwaves) and very large optical systems. Three years later, I transferred home to St. Louis, MO and worked as a business developer, business manager, and program manager. I retired from Northrop Grumman in 2007. My hobbies and interests are: visiting grandchildren, amateur astronomy, music, bicycle riding, garden railroading, and model railroading. My bucket list items are: dance at every grandchild's wedding, view the southern night sky (preferably from New Zealand), ride the railways in Germany and Japan, and revisit Ireland.
