The son of Herbert Arthur Sattel and Anna Elias, "Dann" married (Living) Lewis on 20 May 1967 at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church in Overland, St. Louis County, Missouri.

Ties between the Sattel and Lewis families were very close. His brother and her sister eventually married.

Dann and his wife worked for an insurance agency in Overland. He then served in the United States armed forces. After returning to civilian life, the Sattels became the parents of 2 children. The family lived in Florissant, St. Louis County, Missouri for a number of years and later moved to Wildwood in St. Louis County.

Dann was the owner of Old Town Insurance Center in Florissant, which was established in 1979. His wife worked as his partner and helped run the business. She took on more and more responsibilities as his health began to decline.

Dann died at his home following a series of serious medical difficulties. At the time of his death, he was 76 years, 8 months and 17 days old.

He was survived by his wife; 2 sons; 1 granddaughter; 1 brother and 1 sister-in-law; and many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his mother and father, Dann was preceded in death by his in-laws, Joe and Peggy Lewis.

In accordance with his wishes, the body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
