Dick Wobbe passed away on December 9, 2011. Many of his Saint Mary's classmates attended the wake on December 14 and/or his funeral the following day. Dick was one of the great characters from the Class of '61 and remained so even in death, laid out in one of his signature bright plaid sport coats, making him the most colorful guy in the funeral parlor. Below is the program from Dick's funeral service.

Dick was always full of energy and had a lot of guts when he played soccer for his church or St. Mary's Dragons. He loved his Cardinals and enjpyed his terrific seats at the stadium. I will miss his smiling face at the Cardinals and his love for the Cardinals. We missed him at the 50th Reunion but he is now kicking for the Lord's team and he will always be a winner.

Thank you Glenn for the sad news about Dick Wobbe’s death. He was a great guy! I’ll keep him in my prayers. I treasure those days at St. Mary’s. Both Jim Dowdy and I found teaching at St. Mary’s so rewarding. It was because of the students—basically good guys who were always looking for some way to have fun. They kept you on your toes.
