My friendship with Dave started in the 7th grade at St. Margaret's and continued thru high school. We remained best friends up to his death in 2003. Dave served in the U.S. Navy as a Signalman from 1961 to 1964. We were fortunate enough to see each other when the destroyer he was on came alongside the aircraft carrier I was on for refueling in the south China seas. We were able to get together for a short time in Japan. On the night that Dave was dying, he asked his son Steve to call me. Regretfully, Dave was not able to talk to me. Dave was my best friend and he is buried at Jefferson Barracks with his wife Carol. Rest in peace my friend.
