Brother Kennealy died on April 22, 1995.

Bro. William Kennealy, S.M., died on April 22, 1995 in St. Louis, Missouri in the 72nd year of his age and the 48th of his religious profession.

William Kennealy, was born on October 7, 1923. Prior to joining the Marianists, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. From 1944 - 46, he was a transport pilot in the Southwest Pacific area. Brother Kennealy entered the Marianists in 1946. He professed first vows on August 15, 1947 and perpetual vows on July 10, 1951. He received a B.S. in Education from the University of Dayton (1949) and a M.S. in Education from Marquette University (1959).
 
Brother William served at several high schools in St. Louis: DeAndreis (1949 - 52); Chaminade College Preparatory (1952 - 54, 1972 - 76); and St. Mary's (1954 - 55, 1958 - 64, 1968 - 72, 1976 - 82, 1989 to his death). He also served at St. Michael's High School in Chicago, IL (1966 - 68) and at Central Catholic High School in San Antonio (1955 - 58, 1964 - 66). Brother Kennealy was twice principal of his alma mater, St. Mary's High School in St. Louis (1958 - 1964, 1976 - 1982), where he was also community Director. At various times he also served as teacher, coach, athletic director, sodality moderator, prefect of resident students, and director and counselor at Chaminade summer camp.
 
Brother William made the following statement on vocations: "Our contribution as Marianist educators can best be measured when we are able to hear from our mature graduates of the impact our schools have had on their lives."
 
Brother William died of complications following a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He is buried at Maryhurst Cemetery at Vianney High School.
