Vivian Denno Lurkins

I graduated from SEMO in 1974 with a degree in Home Economics Education. I taught Home Ec. until 1982 when my son was born. I then went to Meramec CC and graduated with a nursing degree in 1985. I worked for 5 years at Lutheran Medical Center and then at St Anthony’s Medical Center until I retired in 2012. I helped with delivering many babies and even did 3 by myself when the Dr didn’t get there in time!! Since retirement, I have enjoyed gardening, some traveling, and of course, my 8 grandchildren. I love how Facebook has allowed us to regain and maintain contact!

I was associated with the drama class for a while, but mostly in the background with costume alterations etc. At the end of our senior year we had a show inwhich EVERYONE in the class participated. I remember reciting a poem that I had written and I got halfway through and couldn’t remember the words! So EMBARRASING. It took me a couple seconds to regroup and made it through but I felt so stupid!
