My heart is so sad. I lost a long time friend Shirley Rabenau Higgins Jan 13th 2015. Our friendship goes as far back as High School (locker partners). We were roommates at Southeast Missouri State University and in each others weddings. Our lives went separate ways for a while but we still stayed in touch. Shirley was one smart, creative and talenated self made lady who loved life to the fullest. She encounted many bumps in the road as years went by but managed to get through them, cope and move on. Shirley would greet you with a wonderful smile and you knew she was really happy to see you. I will miss our long talks with a glass of wine Dear Friend. But I know our paths will meet again. There will be a Memorial Service for her in the near future. Please check the STL Post Dispatch for DATE, TIME and PLACE.

Dear Patti,

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend, Shirley, & she will be in my nightly prayers.  Shirley & I were in Girl Scouts together with Jackie Conner's mother being our leader.  Shirley lived in my neighborhood so we rode the same school bus together.  We both  had dental braces at the same time & we would compare notes on what our orthodontists had worked on that month. We would some times sit together at the LHS football games.  She was a sweet gal & I was looking forward to seeing her at the Sept. 50th reunion.  I hope you will be at the reunion.  Again, I am sorry for your loss.  Sincerely, Sharon (Garner) Sheedy
